Nusen helps you set your own app boundaries. The app uses Apple's Screen Time controls on your device. Account settings can be backed up so you can restore them on another device.
Who is responsible
SK-PD LTD (registration no. HE 485247), Gladstonos 16, 8046 Paphos, Cyprus, is the controller of the personal data described here. For privacy questions or requests, write to simon@skpd.studio.
Information Nusen handles
- On your device: the apps or categories you choose through Apple's Family Controls picker, your app rules, local Screen Time information and related actions, onboarding answers, and other local preferences. Nusen does not upload your selected app identities, Family Controls tokens, measured app usage, or local intervention events to its account database.
- For your account: an account identifier and the email address or identity information provided by your chosen sign-in method. If you use email sign-in, Supabase sends a sign-in link. If you choose Sign in with Apple or, when available, Google, that provider handles its own sign-in and shares the information you authorize.
- Account backup: your named time windows and their schedules, your six notification choices, your optional shield phrase and No way past preference, and your optional marketing preference. The service also stores when your free week begins and ends and the timestamps needed to manage your account.
- Your writing: the notes and check-in answers you save, and any app names you type yourself, are associated with your account. Nusen can back up this text and keep the letters and check-in content generated for you. A name you type is your own text; it is not an app identity obtained from Apple's picker.
- Generated letters and questions: when this feature is enabled, Nusen sends only your written notes, answers and the app names you have supplied to OpenAI through its server. It does not send your account email, Apple app tokens, token hashes, Screen Time reports, usage times or local access counts. Avoid including information you do not want processed in the text you write. The model may make mistakes; it does not independently observe your app use.
- Purchases: Apple processes payments and subscriptions through the App Store. Nusen reads verified StoreKit transactions on your device to unlock the plan you bought. For account services, Nusen also verifies Apple-signed transactions on its server and stores the product, original transaction identifier, purchase environment, entitlement expiry and verification time with your account. These records help confirm access to paid content; they are not sent to OpenAI. Nusen does not collect your payment card details. Nusen also retains the verified notification identifier, subscription event, plan, period and trial flag to measure trial conversion, renewals, cancellation and refunds. Retries of the same Apple notification count once; Sandbox and Production are separate.
- Share Reflect: when you invite or join a companion, Nusen stores the relationship between the two account identifiers, the invitation's expiry and single-use status, the companion-change date and the verified access period. This lets one independent account receive Reflect while the inviter's eligible purchase remains active. The two accounts do not share their notes, letters, check-ins, calendars or app choices. These relationship records are not sent to OpenAI.
- Notifications: if you enable remote notifications, Nusen stores an installation identifier, Apple's notification delivery token and your delivery choices with your account. Its server sends general notices through Apple's Push Notification service, such as when writing is ready. Notification text does not include your chosen app names, notes or Screen Time usage. The delivery identifiers are not sent to OpenAI. You can change notification choices in Nusen or turn off notification permission in iOS Settings.
- Product measurement: Nusen records your account identifier and one date per day when your signed-in app contacts the service. We use this to count returning accounts, including returns after thirty days. Our cohort begins at the account's first recorded contact; we cannot reconstruct installations or activity from older builds. These records do not contain the apps you selected, Screen Time usage, your words, or IP addresses added by Nusen.
- Install sources: Apple's App Store Connect provides aggregate installation, campaign and referral reports. For Apple Ads, Nusen sends an Apple AdServices attribution token through its server to Apple's attribution API. It stores the returned attribution flag and campaign, ad-group and keyword identifiers with your account and purchase environment. The raw token and Apple response are not saved by Nusen or sent to OpenAI. Test/Sandbox results are kept distinct from production results. We do not use IDFA, fingerprinting, third-party analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking.
- Announcements and optional lists: Nusen records which configured announcement was offered to your account and when it was dismissed, so it does not repeat. If you tap an announcement's signup button, we store your account identifier, verified email, that list's consent time and signup placement. Joining one list does not subscribe you to another. Every list email contains an unsubscribe link; opening the link requires a confirmation tap before unsubscribing. No announcement or list campaign is currently enabled.
- Website and service requests: hosting and authentication providers necessarily receive technical request data, such as IP addresses and security logs, when you load this page or use account services. We do not add a third-party analytics or advertising SDK to the iOS app.
Why we use it
We use account and backup data to provide sign-in, restore your settings and writing, manage the free week, generate the Reflect content you request, and support the app. This is necessary to provide the service you request. We use limited technical data to keep the service secure and reliable, based on our legitimate interest in protecting it. Optional news about Nusen is based on your separate marketing choice; you can withdraw that choice by contacting us. Apple handles payment processing under its own terms and privacy notice.
We use these limited product and purchase records to understand product performance. Optional list emails are based on your specific signup consent; use the unsubscribe link in any email to withdraw it. Account deletion removes your daily account records, attribution and signup records. Apple transaction-event history may remain for purchase reconciliation without your account/email or writing attached.
Who receives it
Supabase hosts account authentication, backups, your writing and Reflect content. Resend delivers authentication emails from Nusen's email subdomain; it receives the recipient email address and the authentication message needed for delivery. We do not enable email open or click tracking for these messages. OpenAI processes the text described above when generated letters or questions are enabled. OpenAI says API data is not used to train its models by default; API abuse-monitoring logs may retain submitted content for up to 30 days, subject to its policies and legal requirements. Apple provides Screen Time controls, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, and system services. Google receives sign-in data only if you choose Google sign-in. Bunny.net serves Nusen's public web pages and login link host. These providers may process technical or account data as needed for their services. We do not sell personal data or share app usage data with advertisers.
Storage and transfers
We keep account data, your writing and saved Reflect content while your account is active, unless you delete them sooner. You can export your notes or use Delete all notes where those controls are available in Settings. You can delete your account in Settings on every plan. Account deletion removes your Supabase account and its related backup and writing, and clears Nusen's local choices on that device. App Store subscriptions do not cancel automatically; manage them separately with Apple. We may retain information where required for legal obligations, security, or resolving a dispute; provider backups and OpenAI's abuse-monitoring logs expire according to their retention cycles. If you have not deleted your account, local app data remains on your device until you remove the app or its data. Our providers may process information outside the European Economic Area; where required, we rely on applicable transfer safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
Your choices and rights
You can change Screen Time and notification permissions in iOS Settings. You can stop optional marketing messages by emailing us. You may request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion of personal data at simon@skpd.studio. We may need to verify that the account is yours before acting. You can also complain to the data protection authority in Cyprus or your local authority in the EU/EEA.
Changes
We will update this page when Nusen's features or data handling change and show the new date above. If a change materially affects your choices, we will give you a suitable notice.
